In my sunny California studio it's just me – I make the art, market the art, and teach art classes. As a busy "solopreneur" I wear all the hats and I love it.
Cyanotype printing (aka sunprinting) is my primary medium and I'm pretty obsessed with it! I print using plants and light sensitive chemicals outdoors in the sun. Collage, watercolor, and drawing enhance these original prints. Experimentation and problem solving are a big part of my creative process – I’m always trying new materials and coming up with my own techniques. The possibilities are endless.
Art has been my lifelong passion. I studied drawing and painting at Chico State earning a BA in Art. After graduation, I continued taking courses in graphic design. I also hold a master’s degree in the Arts in Education from Sacramento State University.
After 20 wonderful years in printing, graphic design and illustration, (career #1) I was ready for a change. I became a teacher and began sharing my artistic passion with school students. (career 2)
Now, as an artist, educator, and creative entrepreneur (career 3) I use all of these skills and I couldn't be happier! I share my work at shows, studio events, and on Instagram and teach in my Sacramento studio and at other arts venues in the region. Subscribe to my newsletter to see what I'm up to!
